Bringing The Wine Tours To You!

Had a great Friday night catching up with long time friends we don’t get to see often enough. We met at the Marina in San Leandro for happy hour and half priced margaritas! Good times!

A conversation came up about wine tasting and how they were planning a trip to Napa but it fell through. The question was raised once again, “Why not come to Livermore?” Over 50 wineries close to home and all the charm and great wines that rival Napa.  It got me thinking, if I were to take my friends on a tour of the Livermore wineries that had never been here, where would I take them? Here’s what I came up with…

Tour #1 (For first time visitors/romantic):

Start out on the North Livermore and head downtown. Stop at Swirl for a light lunch and sampling of some of Livermore’s finest.

Next continue on through South Livermore and stop at Concannon (one of the oldest and most beautiful Livermore wineries) and then Retzlaff right next door. End with dinner at Wente and a bottle of Riva Ranch Chardonnay.

or…

Tour #2 (Just as great with friends or day 2):

Take the Airway exit to Jack London. First stop… Longevity (tucked away in a surprising location, amazing wines and cozy tasting room with friendly people will not disappoint!), then on to Ruby Hill (beautiful tasting room and wines), next Thomas Coyne (beautiful views, old building and great wines) and end with dinner at Zephyr Grill downtown (free corking when you bring a bottle of Livermore wine!).

There are so many great ways to see Livermore! What would your tour be?
