This Friday afternoon a portion of the Bryersantis family (and a couple of other wine fans) could be found at Nottingham Cellars on Vasco Road. When we walked in, we were greeted by Jeff, who enthusiastically walked us throughNottingham’s wines of the day. The offerings for the afternoon included a newly released Grenache Rose, 2007 Livermore Valley Viognier, 2005 Lodi Syrah, 2007 Livermore Valley Cab and a 2007 Lodi “Old Vine” Zin. As we sipped on our tastings, we were given a history of Nottingham and how they came to be in Livermore during the summer of 2009. Jeff was very friendly and was a pleasure to talk with. At the end of our time in the tasting room, he took us back to the barrel room to give us an overview of what takes place behind the scenes and how the wine making process works. I love it when I am allowed the opportunity to see the process of creating the bottle that sits on my dining table. All of the wines that were tasted were fantastic. It was a very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be bringing back the remainder of the Bryersantis Family. Nottingham’s“tag line” is ‘Fine Living Requires Fine Wine’ – they do an amazing job. Cheers to fine wine!
