Marina California and a 2006 Longevity Cabernet Sauvignon

My wife and I spent the night at the Sanctuary Resort in Marina California and we wanted to bring a little bit of Livermore Valley with us! Since it was my wife’s 40th birthday, we decided to bring one of our “untouchable” wines. That’s right….a 2006 Livermore Valley Longevity Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a valued wine to us because there is no more left of this particular vintage. Words cannot describe how great this wine was. As you can see from the picture, we fully enjoyed this wine with the unbelievable view of the ocean. It could not have been better….well, it could have been better if we had another bottle and we stayed another night!

I tasted butter, a hint of oak, lots of jammy flavor, ripe plums, with a little pepper to finish. Lots of full flavor but yet very smooth. A perfect bottle of wine, a perfect stay at the Sanctuary Resort and a perfect birthday celebration for Julia.
