So, this past weekend, a year and a half’s work finally came to fruition.  My 20 year high school reunion was amazing!  You always want everyone to come, but sometimes realize that the perfect group showed up.  It started Friday night with a mixer at Sanctuary.  Saturday morning brought a very intimate brunch with 8 of us reconnecting after a very long time.  Saturday night was the big event (seen above), and Sunday ended the weekend with a family picnic at McGrail Vineyards.  So many of us have changed in so many ways – there is no possibility of communicating all that life has brought us through in the past 20 years.  Even so, it was amazing how easy it was to jump right back in where we all left off, sans the high school drama.  Reconnecting with people that meant so much during our formidable years was a very incredible experience.  I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to take part in putting this weekend in motion.  Sunday, as we were all saying our teary goodbyes, there were many mentions of, “Wow – Livermore sure has changed.  I WANT to live here now.  The wineries and vineyards are beautiful.  The downtown is actually fun.  This *homecoming* was definitely worth the trip.”  Yes, friends, we are very blessed to live where we live.  As I sip on a glass of Garre’s Profound Secret, I am feeling very nostalgic, and a little lonely for what used to be.  As sentimental as the weekend has made me, I am so thankful for the wonderful friendships that God has blessed me with in my adult years.  Cheers to good friends, old and new!
