Livermore Grocery Outlet, Kelte 2008 Malbec

I’ve purchased a few Malbecs from the Livermore Grocery Outlet lately and they both had something in common……even better the next day.  The second day can be hit or miss with wine, I’m sure most will agree with me.  Sometimes one can get a great wine, open it up on the first day and it can be phenominal.  Cork it up and save some for the next day and all of a sudden the phenominal wine from yesterday gets a big giant, “boo.”  Not so with the Kelte 2008 Malbec.  Great the first night and even better the next.

A little back of the bottle information about this fantastic wine. “Malbec is the backbone of the Argentine wine industry for a good reason, it is fantastic.  The grape that came from Cahors near Bordeaux has found it’s perfect home in Argentina, and more specifically in Mendoza where these are grown.  This is an absolutely superb example of how good this wine can be at an affordable level.  The wine’s dense red color gives a full and rich fruit nose of wild berries and black currant.  The mouth is lush and full, leading to a very well balnced and long finish….the true mark of a great Malbec.  This is the red that can be enjoyed with everything or nothing.  Any meat dish will love to be paired with this wine.  Also has a great acidity for tomato based pasta dishes.  Truly a fit-all red.”

Thank you once again Livermore Grocery Outlet for this great find.  In my opinion this gets the Bryersantis “Stamp of Approval.”  I’m open to comments please.  Run out to the Livermore “GO” and get a bottle, try it, and let me know what you think!  Cheers!
