A love for Livermore wines.

I moved to Livermore almost 10 years ago from just over the hill and I still feel as if it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I loved this town then and I love it even more now. It seems as if Livermore just keeps getting better and better, just like a good wine! I love the community here, the people (and my friends of course), the parks, the trails, the great weather, our school, our church, the downtown, the history, the cowboys and open space, and our many wineries and beautiful vineyards.

Ten years ago I knew almost nothing about wine and I didn’t really care for it. I am the self-proclaimed non-wine lover of our bunch. But things have been changing over the last couple years since we started our little wine blog. None of us claim to be experts of wine, but what I’ve learned is that there IS wine out there I actually do like and there is some that I don’t. That’s really all that matters. Trust yourself. Drinking wine should be enjoyable. Before a couple years ago it (wine) was all the same to me, but one of the priviledges of living in this charming little town is being able to visit it’s over 50 wineries anytime we get the chance! The Bryersantis family made it a goal of ours a couple years ago to visit all of them and become familiar with the wines.

What a fun journey this has been! Between the 6 of us we have been to most all of the Livermore wineries and some more than several times. In that respect I think we have become experts of the Livermore wine experience. I have been completely won over by the Livermore wine region. There are so many beautiful wineries here, large and small, elegant and quaint. There is something here for everyone.  I have also discovered on this journey of wine tasting how much I enjoy a great zin and syrah as well as the world famous Riva Ranch Chardonnay by Wente. With 6 of us in our wine group, and each with our own different tastes and pallet, it’s always exciting whenever we discover something we all love and can share what we like with you. There have been many and I’m confident there will be many more in the future.

If you haven’t had a chance to come to Livermore yet you are really missing out. Napa is beautiful and has many great wineries. We do still go there on occasion, but Livermore is equally as charming with amazing wines to discover and it’s not as crowded! Let us know if your planning a trip here for the first time and we can give you our favorite recommendations and help customize what your looking for to have a great wine tasting experience or check out our tours page for ideas. Let me warn you it’s impossible to do it all in one day or even in a few, but I think you’ll see it’s worth coming back for more! Cheers!
