Stoney Ridge/Crooked Vine - Always A Good Experience

Saturday afternoon, Todd and I had a couple of hours of free time while our kids were at a birthday party.  We decided to pay a visit to some wineries that we had not been to for a while.  One of our stops was Stoney Ridge/Crooked Vine.  One of the reasons that I love to go there is that they have so many choices.  Their wine list is quite extensive and every time I go in, there seems to be something new to try.  Although the weather was short of glamorous, there were quite a few people in the tasting room.  Even while we were there, a party of 16 showed up to taste!  A real testament to the quality of the wine served.  We were fortunate enough to have John taking care of us.  He is very knowledgeable and handled the crowd with ease!  Being that there were so many to try, we decided on the Syrah’s (they currently have 3 on their menu), the 2008 Zin and their newest red blend, Moxie (which you can also enjoy at Swirl on the Square).  While they were all excellent, they were also quite different.  It is amazing to me how unique each of the Syrah’s were, even though they were of the same varietal.  I would say that the only *problem* with Stoney Ridge is trying to decide which one(s) to go home with – they are all fantastic!  They are open Monday – Saturday 11 – 4:30 and on Sunday from 12 – 4:40.  Pop in next time you are in the area.  Don’t forget to tell them that Bryersantis sent you!

Cheers to Stoney Ridge/Crooked Vine!
