Picazo Pouring At The First Street Wine Company

I often think about how lucky we are to live here in the Livermore Valley.  With the Urban expansion creeping ever closer, it is nice to see that Livermore has taken a stand to preserve the open agricultural land that has fought for almost a century to exist in the midst of prohibition, depression, and suburban sprawl.  The Livermore Valley isn’t just about the fabulous wineries.  The city of Livermore has stepped up their game in recent year and created a downtown revival that will surely continue to make the Livermore downtown the place to be.

One of the shining stars of the Livermore downtown is the First Street Wine Company.  This is one of those businesses that has been a fixture in the downtown area for many years, but it has recently seen a revitalization with new owners, Mike and Linda Allen, who have brought in a fresh perspective and focus on Livermore wine.  The First Street Wine Company has become a showcase for some of the best wines in the Livermore Valley.  With that in mind, it is no surprise that this Thursday, June 2nd, they will be featuring a tasting with Picazo Vineyard, one of the premier wineries in the valley.  The tasting is from 5-8 and the tasting fee is $5, which will get you a taste of the following wines:

2010 Vin Rose, Napa—new release
2009 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa
2006 Merlot, Livermore
2007 Proprietary Red Wine, Napa
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa

Picazo typically has their tastings by appointment only so this is an opportunity not to be missed.  Once you have your tasting, the First Street Wine Company is offering a 10% discount on the purchase of three or more bottles of Picazo wine during the event.

I hope to see you there.

Thanks to the First Street Wine Company for their dedication toward the Livermore Valley.
