Fenestra Winery

This past Friday afternoon, Rachel, Julia, Ken and I decided to pay a visit to Fenestra Winery.  It has been some time since we had been there, and, in wanting to keep up with the latest releases around town, we felt like we needed to get back.  I have always loved Fenestra for it’s picturesque views and the quiet calm that I always feel when I get out of my car and walk into the tasting room.

We were very happy to see that it was not overly crowded, like it can be during the weekend.  We had a lot to taste and it was nice to have all of the attention when we had questions!  Some of our favorites were:

2010 Torrontes, 2009 Tempranillo, True Red *   Lot 26*, 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore, Ghielmetti Vineyard, 2007   Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley, Thatcher Bay Vineyard, 2006 Conjugation
( a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 5%   Cabernet Franc, and 4% Malbec), 2008 Zinfandel,  2007 Syrah, and the 2008 Petite Sirah.

We hope you will consider making it out to Fenestra sometime soon.  With over 20 wines on their menu, you will   want to make sure you pack a picnic and plan on staying for the afternoon.  Ken was a knowledgeable, gracious   host.  If you happen to see him, please tell him that Bryersantis sent you.

Cheers to consistently good wine in the Livermore Valley!
