The Tour Is Back In Livermore

Once again, it’s time to dust off those helmets and oil up those chains because the Amgen Tour de California, America’s largest cycling event, is coming back to Livermore.  On May 15th, Livermore will be opening up its streets to cyclists from around the world for the 3rd stage of the race.  After making the steep climb up Mount Diablo, cyclists will race to the finish in Livermore’s historic downtown.  This is sure to be the biggest Amgen year ever for Livermore.  To get additional information about the Amgen route through Livermore, check out the official race site.

What could be bigger than this awesome cycling race running through the streets of Livermore?  The only thing I can think of is Cuda Ridge’s second annual commemorative wine created to memorialize the AMGEN race through Livermore. This second edition of “The Tour” is a 2010 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Cabernet Franc.  Thanks to Cuda Ridge’s winemaker, Larry Dino, and the First Street Wine Company the best of wine and cycling have been encapsulated in a wine bottle.  With the cool artwork on the bottle’s label and that delicious juice waiting for you on the inside, you can’t go wrong.  I had the opportunity to try The Tour and I had to go home with a bottle.

The Tour is available now for $29, but you can only purchase it at First Street Wine Company in downtown Livermore or at the Cuda Ridge tasting room on East Avenue.  Make sure to pick you commemorative bottle up soon because they won’t last long.
