Start this tour downtown in Black Smith Square on the corner of Railroad and South Livermore. You’ll find a little place called Swirl. Enjoy local wines from some of the smaller lot wineries by flight or by the glass and talk to Rocco about the many fantastic wines Livermore has to offer. Tapas and lunch also served. Open Thursday through Sunday.
Swirl is located at 21 South Livermore Avenue, Livermore (925) 447-1400
Also in Blacksmith Square, a tasting room with wine that will not disappoint is John Christopher Cellars. If your not in the mood for wine but beer is more your style you are in luck because Tap 25 has just opened and it’s a really fun place to order a flight of beers or just a glass. From here you can easily stroll the downtown shops on First Street and check out places like First Street Wine Company featuring all kinds of local Livermore Valley wines. You’ll also find plenty of dining options right around the flag pole like Strizzi’s or Demitris Taverna, serving delicious Greek food. There is also new and exciting place downtown worthy of visit called the Wine Makers Pour House. The food is incredible and they feature all Livermore wines! Order a flight, a glass, or bottle. There is also a great patio outback too to sit and relax. This place is hopping on the weekends, lot of activity going on here so be sure to check them out. I think you’ll love it.
